Lot's
of stuff going on, but no new speakers yet. I've moved my gear and
tools into a new location where I have all the room I need to build,
sand and paint and whatever it is I do. But I had the unfortune of
experiencing complete plumping failure shortly after getting settled in
which kind of set me back a bit.
Those of you from the
northern region of the world might be familiar with Ino Audio and in
particular, a speaker called pi60. I'm actually trying to make a clone
of them. Or rather, it started out as clones but using the original
drivers wasn't a very good idea. The Dynaudio D21 tweeters aren't built
to last. If you disassemble one you'll never get it back together. As
they are so rare, it's not a good idea to use that tweeter. I'm
currently looking into alternatives.
I am guessing the end result will be a speaker that is an 8" two-way and at the very least close to the footprint of pi60.
I'm
also working on a bunch of small, sealed sub-woofers but those will be
built with drivers not easily available so they are probably not going
to be put up on the web.
Scimitar is also getting a
make-over. I feel there is something missing with this design and they
will be rebuilt with a whole new enclosure and cross-over.

Turns
out I can't spell, so I ran a spell checker on all the pages. I hope it
helped. I also added more info to some projects and generally cleaned
things up. Next up: On-wall surround speakers.

I
finally took the time to update the site. The latest project, Tempest,
has been done for a while but writing up all the documentation and
making things remotely comprehensible is always more work than I expect
it to be. But I think I got the most of it, otherwise just let me know.
Check out Tempest on the Projects page!
